Patrick grew up in an Anglican tradition at a cathedral in Uganda, and has been immersed in high standards of music and liturgy since childhood. His background in church music was further enriched by rigorous performing arts training and experience in church positions here in the United States as well as performances worldwide. As School Organist and teacher at Phillips Academy, he learned to relate to people from many parts of the world through music. He received his Bachelor and Master of Music (Organ) from The Juilliard School in New York as well as receiving a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. He has always wanted to examine how the arts contribute to human progress. So, in addition to music, I pursued studies in international affairs and wrote a thesis on music and international trade. He currently is writing a book based on a working paper called “The Creative Wealth of Nations”. He believes these attributes — of making music, teaching, and forging relationships — will serve him well as Music Director at Trinity.

I have worked at Trinity Episcopal Church as Sexton for several years. Everyone is good to me including Rev. Kim and the rest of the staff and all the members I know. I also work at Hyatt Regency Bethesda in the Engineering Department. [read more] I take this opportunity to thank Rev. Kim and the rest of the members of this church who helped my son Yohan Ferdinando to travel to Sri-Lanka to help the tsunami victims.” George has received several commendations from his full time employer for work performed above and beyond the call of duty, worthy commendations we too affirm.
